Bayonne welcomed a new addition to its culinary scene in the latter half of October, as Julius Bakery opened its doors at 713 Broadway. The bakery has been well received so far by the community, offering an array of cakes, pastries, breakfast treats, and more.

The bakeshop’s selection is impressive, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences. Customers can indulge in an assortment of cakes, including classics like carrot cake, chocolate mousse, Italian rum, red velvet, and tres leches. The tres leches cake has emerged as a best-seller, the result of the owner’s specialty recipe that avoids the addition of extra sugar to the “three milks” allowing the cake’s flavors and the creaminess of the milk to shine through. The soft butter cookies with raspberry jam filling have also quickly gained popularity among patrons.

For those with a penchant for pastries, Julius Bakery offers an extensive array of options. From the flaky delight of fruit tarts to the classic allure of cannolis, sfogiatelle, and lobster tails. Rounding out the shop’s selection is a variety of breakfast baked goods such as croissants, bagels, and muffins available fresh daily.

While they have standard 7 and 10-inch cake sizes, smaller versions and single slices are also available for those seeking individual portions. Additionally, the bakery does custom cakes in any shape and has a variety of cake options and fillings to make your cake fantasy a reality.

The number of fillings is impressive, especially fruit fillings the team is able to incorporate. Among the fresh fruit fillings is strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, cherry, mango and more. Besides fruit filling the bakeshop offers traditional favorites of such as chocolate mousse, custard, buttercream and whipped cream.

The establishment also serves coffee and espresso to complement their sweet offerings. Plans are in the works for expanding their coffee offerings to include craft espresso drinks such as lattes and cappuccinos. Also in the works is a soon expected seasonal pie offering to give patrons a high-quality option for their favorites during the holiday season.

The bakery is open 7 days a week, opening at 6:00 AM and closing at 9:45 pm or later each night.

The space was previously occupied by Philly Pretzel Factory
